- “0″ -

Invented separately in both India and South America, the numeral 0 is one of the most important ideas in the development of any mathematical, organizational system. It acts as a placeholder for higher integers, allows for the existence of negative numbers, and is the cardinality of any empty set.  It is synonymous with “go” in any countdown.

In the Cartesian coordinate system, 0 is the starting position on both axes.  It’s the “you are here” of the universe, but it’s only an emptiness…

It is the only indivisible number, and the only one that guarantees a negative result when something is taken away and a positive result when something is added.  And I plan on doing a lot of adding here.

  1. For the sake of completion, this is where its starts.

Everything before this was a prelude, a negative number, something filled in after the fact.

The true beginning of it all is here.

  2. And when we take refuge in Buddha we’re taking refuge in the fact that there is that open dimension, what we are is not carved in stone. And so […] the importance of zero, the importance of emptiness is that it makes anything possible.
