- Lights -

Haven’t done one of these in a while, but I was inspired to pick up the camera recently because of the bone-achingly cold weather we’ve been having here in NYC.

This is what cabin fever does to me, folks, enjoy.  More texty stuff to come soon.

Some of the more abstract pieces inspired by Daido Loori Roshi.

  1. Stunning photographs… there is more than one photographer in this family! I wish I could see things the way you do sometimes Ian.

    My favorites?

#4, #9, #14… and you should take #15 and do the same thing but without the paintings. Just use the negative space of the lamp and the walls. They overexposure is perfect and beautiful in that one.

  2. Thanks, it did feel really good getting back into this. Funny thing about the overexposure, I couldn’t quite get the same effect zoomed in close on the lamp. Plus, I figured the artist might enjoy the slight publicity as well. :)

When I’m home next week, remind me that we should watch that video I’ve linked to here. I want to point something out to you that I think you’ll appreciate…

As far as seeing things the way I do, I don’t really see them. They see me, sort of, or they make me see them. However you describe it, it comes from the thing viewed, not from me. :)
