  5. Saw Prometheus myself. Loved it, quite the mindfuck (pun intended). REALLY hoping they tie this back into the Alien movies a little more explicitly. As in, the woman with the android head comes back into the Alien movie timeline or something. No specific ideas, but something involving more spacegods would be entertaining…

  8. So I have this sort of High Weirdness Grail story I feel I need to share.

    Please don’t think of me as any odder for it than I already am, I’m just telling it how it is. (I’m reminded of the three baseball coaches: ‘I tell it how I see it; I tell it how it is; It ain’t anything till I tell it.’)

    Early last year I found myself in Wells Cathedral. It’s one of the few that was missed by the iconoclasts, presumably because they couldn’t find it. Heck, even the Olympic torch got lost in the windy lanes thereabouts. :) But I digress.

    So I look up at the scissor arch, which could have been made yesterday but wasn’t, and I ask, ‘what am I supposed to do?’

    And I have a memory – I won’t say I heard a voice, because that isn’t true, but I have a weird memory form somewhere, perhaps a dream, of a whisper saying, ‘Serve God.’

    I wondered over that memory for about a year, until early this year it finally connected to the Grail legend. Serve OF God, TO God. We represent the Universal Intelligence…

  9. That is beautiful. And definitely not weird. I have my fair share of the occasional voices, signs, answers to questions.

    To share, just yesterday, riding from Seattle to Portland on a train, I was struggling with this idea of trusting reality as its unfolding, and kind of thought out loud: “OK, I surrender, I accept this as it is. Is this correct? Please give me a sign of acknowledgement.” It was sort of an extension of my hand and a waiting for a response. And only a little while later, after I’d stopped waiting for an answer, I looked out the window and there was one of these off to the west.

    The things is, I think our prayers are heard and answered, in the order they are sent, and we get encouragement when we’re aware enough to know that we need to ask for it. But as far as knowing what it is we’re supposed to be doing? The “how” of “Serve God”? That part always escapes me.

    But “Of God, To God”. I like that. Serve God to God. Well said.

    But whats with that epod site, I think I may be missing something there?

    I guess it is a pretty cool sign, though I’m not sure if hearing a memory of a voice isn’t at least just as good. I mean, subtle engagement of the verbal part of the brain? Very cool.
